On the 5 November 2021 LinkedIn reported 790.4 million users. Now that is impressive and probably viewed as an opportunity.

But it is also creating a huge problem for those LinkedIn users that are not ‘influencers’.

How do you get engagement when posting good content?

How do get your connections to respond to your messages?

How do you get your LinkedIn Profile visible?

These are typical questions my followers and clients ask.

The answer is to monitor your profile dashboard daily.

While most are familiar with the ‘Who viewed your profile’ and the ‘Post views’ options what you should be focusing on is the ‘Search appearances’

The ‘Search appearances’ reveals three very important insights searchers used to find your profile.

1.     Where your searchers work

2.     What your searchers do

3.     Keywords your searchers used

All three of these will guide you in understanding if your profile is attracting the right audience but most important is the ‘Keywords your searchers used’

These keywords are creating visibility to your profile for you. In other words, people are already finding you by using these keywords so use more of these keywords.

You can add these keywords in your banner, headline, about, experience and your content.

Now if these keywords are a total mismatch, then remove them from your profile and add the keywords that you would like to be found for.
